Balanced Audio is headed by James Billinge: a mixing a mastering engineer with 16 years experience in multiple studios that have produced gold and platinum records.

From his early beginnings as a studio engineer to working alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Prash ‘Engine-Earz’ Mistry, James has refined his craft across multiple genres, including drum and bass, hip-hop, rock, garage, jazz and folk.

He believes music is an emotional story, and is committed to enhancing the essence of music so it connects with the listener.

He’s mixed and mastered across a wide range of genres with artists such as Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Roni Size, DJ Fresh, Fearless Vampire Killers, and many more (see credits).

As well as being the live centre of the Dutty Moonshine backline playing massive gigs and festivals, he’s also 1 half of production duo ‘UWOT’ who’s first release was an official remix of Roni Size’s “Brown Paper Bag”. 

As the founder of Balanced Audio, James is now taking his expertise to the next level, offering world-class mixing and mastering services tailored for musicians who seek professional-quality sound.
